Jorge Felipe ESPESO

I´m a creative Polymer Chemist with more than 20 years of experience in industrial environment and a strong multidisciplinary background in chemistry, polymer chemistry, plastic foams, plastic formulations, materials characterization, building materials, recycling plastic technologies, encapsulation technologies, fibres production technique, etc, and excellent organizational, supervisory and teamwork skills. 

I joined the R&D department of FECSA in 2021 as head of European projects, fostering the participation of the company in international R&D consortiums within civil and military programmes.

I hold a PhD degree on Polymer Organic Chemistry from the University of Valladolid (2001) and a Master Degree in Polymer Science and Technology from the School of Plastic and Elastomers of ICTP-CSIC (Spanish National Council for research) (1998). I have seven scientific publications in international journals, two technical articles in national journals and is the co-inventor of a patent application related to an anchoring system for ceilings and I participated in different scientific congresses during my PhD work period as well.

I started my professional career in 2001 as R&D and Laboratory Manager at FOREL GROUP a leading Spanish group of companies in the production of expandable polystyrene products for packaging, automobile and construction markets.

After a couple of years working as external consultant for SEGURALIMENT (2013-2014) I joined INSPIRALIA GROUP (2015-2021), an international new product development company expert in helping companies in developing and marketing innovative products and services. At first, as a technical manager of two FP7 Framework projects: FREEFOAM and ECOLASTANE and later on as a project manager of different Horizon 2020 projects (SME instrument, Fast Track to Innovation, etc), ensuring that all legal, financial and administrative obligations and tasks are implemented according to the rules stated in the project’s contract with the EC.
